December means that the holiday season is in full swing and naughty treats and “must-nots” are being handed to us around every corner.
With just a few short weeks left and the New Year is right around the corner, how can you stay on track?
With all of the cookies, pies, candy, and treats available and the cold winter weather keeping us inside, it’s perfectly natural to put on a few extra pounds.
Eat in Moderation
With all of that yummy food sitting in front of you all season long, it takes a lot of self restraint to not eat everything in site. The important thing to do is to eat in moderation, and also to stick to a healthy diet.
Don’t overfill yourself and don’t eat more than you can handle. Also try to load up on the delicious and nutritious selections first, including fruits, veggies and lean protein.
Don’t Skip Exercising
Just because it is cold out doesn’t mean you shouldn’t exercise. Instead of hitting the pavement outside, hit the gym. You’ll be able to keep up on your normal exercise routine without freezing outside.
Be sure to go at least three times a week and do both cardio and weight lifting. You can also mix it up by enrolling in different fitness classes, such as Pilates or spinning. This will keep you challenged and on your toes.
If you don’t belong to a gym, buy (or borrow) a fitness DVD and do the routines in the house!
Fashion Tips for Your Figure
Even if you do manage to gain a few pounds, winter is the best time to disguise your weight gain. Try wearing dark colors that flatter your figure. Tunics, striped sweaters and boot cut pants are all wonderful options. You can even accentuate by pairing your outfits with bold accessories such as statement necklaces such as dangly earrings and pretty necklaces. A new haircut might even do the trick to slim the face!
For those problem areas that simply will not go away, plastic surgery is always an option. Plastic surgery for moms is great for women trying to get rid of extra fat that won’t budge after having children.
