While our tummy tuck patients have similar complaints (the primary concerns are loose skin and excess fat), not everyone has the same body type or requires the same degree of correction. In order to meet the diverse needs of our patients, we offer several types of tummy tuck procedures that employ different techniques and technology.
Lipo Tummy Tuck
Ideal for: reduction of excess fat + non-surgical skin tightening.
A “lipo tummy tuck” involves the use of Smartlipo laser liposuction to remove pockets of fat from the tummy for a flatter, firmer contour. This procedure can be used on other areas of the body, is great on the abdominal region because in addition to removing localized fat deposits. Additionally, the laser has a skin-tightening effect. Smartlipo will target fat and loose skin in one treatment session. Most of our patients only need about three days of downtime to recover. There are no incisions, only small punctures where the cannula is inserted.
Mini Tummy Tuck (aka Partial Abdominoplasty)
Ideal for: improving the area underneath the navel.
Mini tummy tuck specifically targets the area below the navel. It removes loose abdominal skin and excess fat, but does not modify the abdominal musculature at all. As a result, mini tummy tuck involves a shorter recovery than a full tummy tuck. It also involves a smaller incision. Mini tummy tuck is best suited toward women whose abdominal muscles have not separated.
Full Tummy Tuck
Ideal for: complete cosmetic enhancement of the entire abdomen.
Full tummy tuck surgery offers the most comprehensive correction and dramatic results. Procedural steps include:
- Removing excess abdominal skin
- Tightening the abdominal muscles
- Reducing or removing C-section scars (if need be)
- Relocating the belly button to a better position on the abdomen
Full tummy tuck requires an elliptical-shaped incision near the pubic bone. Our surgeons will place the incision low enough so it can be concealed underneath panties or a bathing suit.
